Methodology

This report is based on publicly listed pricing information collected from 734 weight loss clinic websites across the United States in March 2026. Our dataset includes clinics from our directory of 3,318 GLP-1 providers nationwide.

After the filters below, 596 prices from 405 of those clinics feed the figures on this page. The rest publish a price in a form that is not comparable to a monthly rate, such as per-injection or per-visit. Every individual price point is archived at doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21843006.

What we included

  • Monthly subscription and starting-at prices listed on clinic websites
  • Prices between $50 and $1,500 per month (outliers excluded)
  • Both compounded and brand-name medication pricing (see how they differ)
  • Telehealth and in-person clinic pricing

What we excluded

  • Per-dose, per-injection, and per-visit pricing (not directly comparable to monthly rates)
  • Insurance-negotiated rates and copay amounts
  • Prices below $50/mo or above $1,500/mo (likely data errors or outliers)
  • Clinics without publicly listed pricing

How we calculated

  • Median (not mean) used to reduce impact of outliers
  • 25th and 75th percentiles represent the typical price range
  • State-level statistics require at least 3 data points
  • Retail pharmacy prices sourced from manufacturer list prices

The dataset is a fixed snapshot (as of August 2026). The figures on this page are computed live from our directory and update as clinics add or change prices, so the live numbers can move by a dollar or two from the snapshot. States with fewer than 3 price points are left blank rather than estimated.

The underlying observations are archived with a permanent DOI at Zenodo, where every price point is listed individually. Clinics are not named there.

Most clinic prices include the medication itself, initial consultation, medical supervision, and follow-up appointments. Some clinics charge separately for lab work, body composition analysis, or nutritional counseling. We recommend confirming what is included before starting treatment.

Prices were collected from publicly listed rates on 734 clinic websites across the United States in March 2026. We included monthly and starting-at prices between $50 and $1,500. Outlier prices below $50 or above $1,500 were excluded. This represents the largest independent survey of GLP-1 clinic pricing data available.

Compounded GLP-1 medications contain the same active ingredients as brand-name versions but are prepared by compounding pharmacies. The FDA allows compounding when there are drug shortages. Always verify that your clinic uses a licensed compounding pharmacy. Compounded semaglutide availability may change as shortages resolve.

Insurance coverage varies widely. Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA-approved for weight loss and may be covered by some plans. Many patients find that cash-pay clinic prices are competitive with or lower than insurance copays, especially when using compounded formulations.
